Let’s talk about making money selling tracksuits on eBay. Yep, I’m talking about the ones you can find in thrift stores.

I recently wrote a post about reselling vintage windbreaker jackets on eBay, but now we’re going to discuss selling the entire tracksuit.

If you can find a nice, vintage tracksuit jacket, that’s great, but if you’re lucky enough to find the complete suit with the matching pants and jacket, you’re in to make bank by reselling it on eBay.

The first tracksuit I found was a bright purple and black vintage Nike suit. It had the color block pattern and the big Nike logo. The purple really stood out. Most items nowadays I list as “Buy it Now”, but this one I listed as a 5-day auction because I wasn’t exactly sure how much it was worth.

To my surprise, it sold for around $75. I couldn’t believe it! And I’ve been buying and reselling these tracksuits ever since.

Here are some examples on eBay if found using a completed listings search, just to give you an idea of what they’re selling for:

Examples of vintage Tracksuits for sale on eBay

As you can see at first glance, these tracksuits are highly profitable. Another good thing is that they are very common in most thrift stores, too.

I can almost always find ones of the jackets every time I go thrift shopping, but I find the complete tracksuit very often as well.

Common brands to look for:

  1. Nike
  2. Adidas
  3. Reebok
  4. Polo Sport Ralph Lauren
  5. Tommy Hilfiger
  6. Kappa
  7. Nautica
  8. Lacoste
  9. Fila
  10. Puma
  11. Lavon
  12. Champion
  13. Bold Spirit

Although there are definitely more profitable brands out there, these are a few that I have found in the past. I’d say the ones I find most often are Nike, Adidas, and Reebok.

Tips for selling tracksuits on eBay:

1. Vintage for the win.

As with most items I talk about on this blog, vintage is the best (and by best, I mean most profitable). Always look for the vintage tracksuits first, as you can most the most money with them.

2. The uglier, the better.

Look for the tracksuits with funky designs. And if spot one, you likely have a hot seller on your hands.

3. Bright colors is good.

Look for track suits with lots of bright and vibrant colors. The buyers of eBay tend to like the more and will spend more money on them.

4. Big logos = big profits.

Look for the tracksuits with the huge logos. For instance, the vintage Nike or vintage Tommy Hilfiger tracksuits with the massive logos are selling for hundreds of dollars.

Ultra-rare Top Selling tracksuits:

Just for the fun of it, take a look at a few of these extremely-rare tracksuits that are selling for hundreds of dollars. We can only hope for come across one of these someday.
